Hello, my name is Sarah Stanton.  I am originally from South Dakota, where I received my Bachelors Degree in Human Development and Family Studies in 2001.  I moved to California 17 years ago with my husband, Mark.  We have two children, Lauren (14) and Andrew (13).  Lauren will be a freshman at Whitney High School and Andrew will be in 8th grade at Western Sierra Collegiate Academy.  We have a 1 year old poodle named Finn that is a lot of fun!  Outside of work, I enjoy the outdoors, and some of my favorite activities are skiing, hiking, and swimming.

Rocklin Academy has been a part of my family for the past ten years, as my children attended school here beginning in Kindergarten.  Before becoming a first-grade teacher, I have had the opportunity to work here at Rocklin Academy as a substitute teacher, a long-term substitute teacher, and PE teacher.  This will be my third year of teaching first grade and I am looking forward to the new school year with students in my class.  My goal is to encourage students to use critical thinking and problem-solving skills to build confidence within themselves.  I am excited to be teaching with Alisha Foster and Chelsea Williams, two dedicated and passionate teachers.

 Go Eagles!
