I am thrilled to start off my 9th year here at Rocklin Academy! After teaching our exceptional curriculum, working with our creative and dedicated staff, and our wonderfully supportive families and their amazing children, I beyond excited to expand my educational experience.
This year I will be working part-time as an Enrichment Support Specialist and part-time as a Principal in Residence. Both of these positions will help broaden my understanding of how to support and promote student growth and achievement for all students through different lenses. Our Principal in Residency position is a new one, and will allow me to gain administrative experience by working closely with principals throughout our organization.
My husband and I have two children, Clare (14) and starting high school, and Cole (10) who is here at Turnstone. We moved to Rocklin from the Bay Area over 15 years ago. Prior to starting our family, I taught for 10 years, and have now taught all grades 2nd-5th. The majority of my teaching career and education is Bay Area based. I graduated with my BA from Sonoma State and then later received my credential and MA from Chapman University, and last year, I completed by Administrative Credential program. I have taught in Brentwood, Walnut Creek, and the Dry Creek School District. I have been the recipient of the Margaret Lynch Scholarship and also the "Teacher Who Makes a Difference" award in 2003 and in 2018, and was also honored with being voted “Best of the Best” elementary teacher in the Placer Herald in 2018.
I will truly have the best of both worlds next year! I will get to continue to teach students and get to continue on a path that will help me grow as an educational leader.
