Welcome to Sixth Grade!

 

My name is Mrs. Gabrielle Ferguson. I joined the Rocklin Academy team in 2015, and I am fortunate to be a part of this amazing school community! Although this will be my seventh year at Rocklin Academy, it will be my 17th year of teaching.

 

My background did not start in the Sacramento area or the teaching profession. I was raised in the Bay Area where my parents still live. I went to the California State University of Sacramento and earned my bachelor's degree in Communications. I worked in the Human Resources field for seven years. After many years of thinking about teaching, I decided to return to school and earned my Masters in Education. I am passionate about teaching and have not regretted my choice to change careers since.

 

When I am not teaching, I cherish my time with my husband and my daughter. We love our family days, watching our daughter in soccer, and taking care of our farm animals. With soccer and a farm, I still have other hobbies I enjoy such as photography, cooking, and crafting.

 

This year will be filled with a ton of experiences as well as projects. I am looking forward to guiding and celebrating your child’s accomplishments during this transitional year of their elementary school experience.

 

I believe partnering with parents is invaluable for student success and there will be many opportunities for us to partner during the year. Your support and time are an essential part of our year. I can’t wait to work together to make this year filled with wonderful memories!
