The Academic Talent Search Qualifying Exam will be offered to students in Grades 4-9.   This test will be held at Western Sierra’s Campus on Monday, March 14, 2011 at 1:15 p.m.   This is a minimum day with dismissal at 12 Noon, so your students should have sufficient time to eat lunch and travel to Western Sierra’s campus.   Please arrive no later than 1 p.m.  Students who take this test automatically qualify for the ATS Summer Program at Sacramento State.  Though there is no obligation to apply, taking the test gives students the opportunity to attend challenging, unique and fun courses.  Academic Talent Search (ATS) is a non-profit program that offers 4th - 9th grade students (student’s grade level as of January 1, 2011) exciting, fast-paced classes designed to accelerate learning in subject areas they enjoy.  Each summer these students have the opportunity to challenge themselves in traditional and non-traditional subjects, meet new friends from other schools, and experience a collegiate environment.  The first step toward participating in ATS is taking the Qualifying Exam.  For information about classes and sample test questions, please visit the ATS website at http://edweb.csus.edu/projects/ats.

 

ATS Test Sign-Up Forms were sent home in your Wednesday Family Folders to all students in grades 4-9. This test sign-up form must be completed and returned to your school’s campus no later than 8 a.m. on Tuesday, March 1, 2011.

 

There will be a $15 processing fee which should be paid the day of the test either by cash, check or money order made payable to ATS.
