Free Community Event - The Year of the Dragon Celebration
On February 8, from 4-5 pm, Western Sierra Collegiate Academy will be presenting a music and dance production featuring the Art Troupe of Beijing Jiao Tong University. This presentation is open to the whole community and we encourage families to bring their whole family for a rich cultural experience. See the press release and flyer for more details.

Confucius Classroom Inauguration Ceremony
Save the Date! On October 28th at 4 p.m., Western Sierra Collegiate Academy will be celebrating the inauguration of the Confucius Classroom. All Rocklin Academy and Western Sierra families are welcome to join for food and entertainment. Western Sierra is the first school in the Sacramento area to be named as a Confucius Institute Classroom, and is proud to be partnering with San Francisco State University, offering classes in both Mandarin and Chinese Culture. Western Sierra Collegiate Academy is appreciative of our local sponsor, Cater Galante Orthodontics.

Rocklin Academy Schools Continue with Highest Test Scores in Region!
According to the results released by the California Department of Education, Rocklin Academy Turnstone Way and Rocklin Academy Meyers Street campuses earned Academic Performance Index (API) scores of 963 and 956 -- the highest API's of all schools in Placer, Sacramento, El Dorado, and Yolo Counties. Western Sierra also scored very well, with an API of 893, making it one of the highest scoring middle/high schools in Placer County and surrounding counties. Congratulations to all! Rocklin Academy and Western Sierra Collegiate Academy Again Achieve Outstanding STAR Test Results!
Western Sierra Collegiate Academy and Rocklin Academy schools are again being recognized for outstanding STAR test results. As reported in the Sacramento Bee, all three Rocklin Academy schools were recognized for having 100% of students score at or above the proficient level in specific subject/grades. Western Sierra's estimated API is above 900, and it is estimated that API scores for both Rocklin Academies are above 950. See the official press release for more information.

USC Ranks Rocklin Academy Meyers Street Number One Charter School in Northern California and Number Two Charter in State
Los Angeles, CA – According to the fifth annual University of Southern California School Performance Dashboard, Rocklin Academy Meyers Street campus is the number 1 charter school in northern California and the number 2 charter school in the state of California.
Rocklin Academy and Western Sierra Win Awards for Imagination
At the March 5 Destination Imagination regional competition in Roseville, Western Sierra Collegiate Academy’s “Speaking Gibberish” team took first place in the middle division and earned the DaVinci Award for outstanding creativity. Rocklin Academy’s Destination Imagination team, “Naughty Magical Ostriches” took first place in the elementary division. Three second place awards went to “The Shadows,” “The Originals” and “The Fantastics,” all Rocklin Academy elementary division teams.
Rocklin Academy Students Earn Awards
Two Rocklin Academy students, Kevin Chang, 11, and Shaurya Grover, 10, recently earned outstanding regional awards for excellence in science and mathematics.
Rocklin Academy Spelling Bee Champion Competes in Central Valley Spelling Bee
Rocklin Academy spelling bee champion Sweta Parija will take the stage in Sacramento on March 2 to compete in the oral phase of the 28th annual Central Valley Spelling Bee.
